Another Manatee at Cape Cod

Wayward Manatee Swimming In Cape Harbor

A wayward manatee is calling Sesuit Harbor home for the time being.

Dennis Harbormaster Terry Clen says the manatee, a male, is from Miami, and appears to be in good condition. It's swimming around the same area another manatee was spotted last year.

Sadly, he died from the stress of being in cold northern waters for too long before arriving at the center.

Hundreds of people flocked to the harbor to catch a glimpse of Dennis last year. Federal officials are anticipating the same type of curiosity this time, and are urging people not to touch or feed the manatee.
Manatees have been spotted this far north in the past, but they usually live in warm, tropical waters off the coast of Florida.
